Regular dental examinations combined with a good daily oral health routine are the first line of defence when it comes to protecting your teeth and gums. Attending the practice regularly allows our practitioners to effectively monitor any changes to your teeth and gums, help you maintain a healthy mouth and smile and ultimately reduce the need for treatment in the longer term.
What does the dental examination involve?
Your dentist will begin by asking you a few questions about your general oral health and whether you have any concerns. Moving on to the dental check, the dentist will carry out an assessment of your teeth, gums and soft tissues, checking carefully for any early warning signs. Depending on the visual assessment you may need x-rays to check tooth and bone structure in more detail.
How often do I need to visit?
Dental examinations are generally recommended every six months, but because everyone is different we create a bespoke oral care plan based on the individual needs of each patient. Your tailored plan will advise you how often we’d like to see you to keep your teeth in top condition.
