Nervous patients

We know that many patients avoid visiting the dentist because of negative childhood experiences and a fear of some treatment. Our team from receptionist through to dental nurses and practitioners are well practised at putting nervous patients at ease.

A survey by the Oral Health Foundation found 36% of people who don’t visit the dentist regularly cited fear as the number one reason. However dental techniques have improved so much over the last few years that the majority of treatments we offer are now completely painless.

Environment

At Contemporary Dental we do all we can to put our patients at ease from the moment you arrive. Our welcoming practice has been carefully designed to provide a calm, tranquil atmosphere. The comfortable, spacious waiting area is WiFi enabled so you can browse the internet or even catch up with some work while you wait.

Here, you’re more likely to breathe in the aroma of fresh flowers and ground coffee as advances in technology mean that many of the sounds and smells traditionally associated with the dentist have been left firmly in the past.

Using technology for a better patient experience

Our extensive industry knowledge keeps us at the forefront of developments in the dental world. It enables us to invest in the most effective digital and laser technology, improving the quality of treatment and speeding up processes for an altogether more comfortable experience.

Should I mention that I’m nervous?

Yes. Please tell us you’re feeling nervous, so that we can help you. We look after many nervous patients so whatever your fear is there’s a high chance we’ve heard it before. If you have a specific area of concern let us know and we’ll do all we can to explain your options.

If you’re still feeling nervous we can schedule a longer appointment to talk through processes in more detail so there are no surprises. This gentle approach enables us to work at a pace you’re comfortable with. Working with you we can maintain strong healthy teeth and gums, and improve your oral health for life.
