Dental veneers improve the appearance of the teeth that are visible when we smile. Made from natural-looking porcelain they are a popular way to disguise any imperfections in the colour, shape, alignment or size of your teeth.

They can add a layer of protection and potentially extend the lifespan of natural teeth. We may also recommend veneers if you are concerned about the spacing between the front teeth or to give the impression of straighter teeth.

Who will benefit?

Veneers are designed to transform the appearance of teeth that are healthy but may appear discoloured, uneven or misaligned. Our experienced practitioners only recommend veneers if we feel they are the best long-term solution. In cases where only a single tooth is affected, a veneer can be crafted to blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural teeth.

How are veneers fitted?

Veneers are bonded to the front teeth. To make space for the veneers we will first need to carefully remove a thin layer of enamel from the surface of the teeth that are being treated to ensure the most comfortable fit. We take a digital scan of the teeth and the dental veneers are crafted in a specialist laboratory to fit the precise shape of each tooth. Finally they are precision bonded to the tooth to fix them firmly in place.

Maintaining veneers

Veneers are a durable, long-term solution but, like natural teeth, they are susceptible to damage if they are not well cared for. To keep veneers in optimum condition it is important to brush and floss regularly. During your appointment we will advise on the best cleaning techniques to keep your veneers and your mouth thoroughly clean and healthy. With the right maintenance veneers can last for up to 30 years.
